CHICO — 'The future of Chico is strong and vibrant.' That was the central message from Mayor Andrew Coolidge, echoed in different words by other presenters, at the State of the City event Thursday morning. About 150 attendees filled the Doubletree Hotel conference room to hear from Coolidge, Chico Police Chief Billy Aldridge, Chico Chamber of Commerce board chair Brandon Slater and Golden Valley Bank President Mark Francis. City Manager Mark Sorensen joined Coolidge and Slater in fielding questions at the gathering organized by the city and the chamber.
