CHICO — It has been since 2017 when the Chico High boys volleyball team had an official CIF sanctioned team, and a group of students and volunteer head coach Jerry Langarica have spent the past two years making a push for a return. Currently the Chico High boys volleyball team is considered a club sport. This means they're self-funded in terms of transportation and uniforms, and the coaches are volunteers. They are still under the Chico High School umbrella, meaning the school provides nets, facilities, medical kits and access to athletic trainers when needed.
